How to delete your account

You can delete your account from inside the app:

  1. Open Itinrary and go to Settings

  2. Scroll to Danger Zone

  3. Tap Delete Account

  4. Confirm when prompted

Deletion runs right away. There is no waiting period and no undo, so make sure you have saved anything you want to keep before you confirm. We send a confirmation email once it is done.

Delete a trip or an update instead

You do not have to delete your account to remove data.

To delete a single trip, open it and use its settings menu. The trip and its updates, photos, videos, voice notes, and comments are removed for everyone who was following it.

To delete a single update, open it and use its menu. Whoever posted it, or the trip owner, can delete it.

If you would rather we removed something for you, email hello@itinrary.com and we will take care of it.

  • Your account and sign in credentials

  • Your name, email address, and profile

  • Every trip you own, including its updates, photos, videos, voice notes, and comments

  • The places and map pins attached to your updates

  • Your postcards

  • Your notification settings and registered devices

  • Your membership in other people's trips

What gets deleted

What does not get deleted

Comments and reactions you left on other people's trips stay where they are, because removing them would tear holes in a conversation that is not yours to edit. They are anonymized instead, so your name is no longer attached.

Purchase records are kept by Stripe, Apple, and Google under their own terms and applicable tax law. We do not control those and cannot delete them.

Deleted content can remain in our encrypted daily backups until they age out after 30 days, after which it is gone.

What happens to trips you shared

Trips you own are deleted along with your account. Anyone who was following one will find the link no longer works.

If other people collaborated on your trip, their updates go with it, so it is worth telling them before you delete. If you want a trip to survive, ask a collaborator to recreate it before you go.
